Please refer to this link.

There is an auto top up without using a pump that I saw. DIY only. Applicable only if your tank evaporation is low, due to size of container. Use an airtight container (lock&lock, etc) drill 2 holes 1 for air and one for water to drip down to sump.

I only saw this on youtube, but can't find the link anymore.

This will depend on the amount of water top off you need. As it will dictate the size of the container. If you need a lot of top off water a day then it is advisable to have someone do it instead of having a large container or multiple medium size containers above your tank/sump.

I personally put in 1 liter of top off each day. A bit more the past few days because of the drier weather.

Here is a link that is a variation of what I saw

I am not sure if you could adapt this with the local toilet float valve system. Technically it should be possible, but I am not sure though.

Or just make a dripper. Pwede mo pang gawing kalkwasser dripper. :) Yun ang gamit ko sa tank ko.

No worries bro, here's how it works:

Image

Gravity fed ang top-off na ito, so meaning mas mataas dapat siya sa paglalagyan ng topoff.

What you need:

Mas malaki, mas maganda since malaki ang capacity.

How to:

Punch two holes in the bottle cap.

Mas maigsi yung isa (tube A) at mas mahaba yung isa (tube B)

Tube A should be just above the water level, Tube B goes almost at the bottom of the container.

Connect the soft airline tube (airline hose) and the valve to Tube B.

Add top-off water or kalkwasser, then close the cap/lid. Make sure the container is airtight.

Blow some air on Tube A. Air will force the water to go to Tube B. Adjust mo na lang yung drip rate ng tubig, gamit yung valve.

Wala kasi akong makitang lumang picture nung ginamit ko pero gagawa uli ako nito using a 6-liter plastic bottle.

HTH

Marty

Sir, maybe I can share my DIY top off. Inverted toilet reservoir float valve, with slight modification lang. Been using this for years na and so far, oks parin.
Original position ng arm is when it floats, pu push nya yung valve in order to shut water supply. if up side down na yung float valve, kelangan ilipat/baligtarin ung arm sa pivot nya. D ako magaling mag explain but I guess you get the idea.
Attach ko sana pics kya lang "board attachment quota has been reached" na daw, kaya can't upload attachments, sorry. HTH

Hi jun,

Maybe you could upload the pics using a third party photosharing site like photobucket. :) I'd love to see your DIY in action. Thanks!

not familiar with photobucket (just signed up kasi),but here goes....

http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u64 ... bad698.jpg
http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u64 ... 1736d8.jpg

sa 5th picture, original position ng arm is to the right. Now it's pointing left. madali lang baligtarin, just pull the pin sa pivot, turn the arm the other way then reinstall the pin.

Hi Marty, appreciate everything, though I'd love to know how you did the "fix", kya lang OT na 'to. Hope the pics did help. This DIY to me is efficient and reliable with almost nil maintenance.
Thanks again

Hello Jun,

May I ask san mo nakuha yung pang mount mo nung float? or is it from an old skimmer/equipment?
Thanks. :)

Astig ng pagkagawa mo, Im a fan of the simplest execution of things. hehe. I remember before nauso pa yun float valve worth Php700 tapos may pump pa. hehe.

Hi Yose, you're right, ung mount galing sa old Queen turbo skimmer. Then get a piece of 1/8" plastic or whatever is available to hold the float valve. The rest, well yakang yaka nyo na
