eliminating bubbles from the DT

tama si sir snakebite. sasama talaga ang air going down to your dt. ganyan ang set-up ng tank ko kaso pabaliktad. overflow ng dt going to sump. the same config ng pipe mo. ang ginawa ko, nilagyan ko ng bubble trap ung end nung pipe sa sump. aun, effective naman na trap ung bubbles. i used bote ng mineral water as my bubble trap. kaya im sure di mo gagawin un sa dt mo. haha! ang fanet nun. bote sa DT.

sinubukan kong kunan ng pic sir kaso walang magandang angle na kitang kita. try ko na lang i-drawing. seryoso ka sir? haha. sabagay pwede syang diskartehan nlang para hindi makita ung bote.

try mo gawin lagyan mo ng isa pang sobrang ikling pvc then elbow agad... that way yung mouth ng pipe ay nasa ibabaw na agad so yung bubbles nasa ibabaw na rin at hindi na hahalo sa dt mo...

ganito sir ung bubble trap ko sa sump. bote ng coke yan na maliit.

thanks for all the help guys! I solved the problem by using a ball valve just like sir snakebite advised..ill post pics later for those who will face the same problem in the future

glad it worked for you, just a word of caution, matching the water going down the DT and the water being pumped is a bit tricky - mahirap balansehin - the solution is to have an emergency overflow just in case. Can't see exactly how you are set up but I guess you can just duplicate the existing down pipe but put the intake a little higher than the pipe with the valve - in case there is a mismatch, the excess water will pass through your emergency pipe and prevent flooding....
I've posted a similar discussion on RP regarding this topic but in reverse - DT on top and sum on the bottom but if you'll read though the discussion you'll see what I mean...see it .

that was a good read..thank you sir..I think I'll just replace the elbow of my drain pipe into a T so I can attach the reserve drain above it..the problem is my sump only has 1 hole..and I don't think a siphon will automatically with the emergency drain that I was planning..btw pics of my set-up are at the 1st page sir

Sir try nyo inclined pipe to DT a few degrees (30degrees to the left) para hindi direct bagsak water from sump to DT.

This way, sliding yung flow ng water from sump, less force bagsak to DT, hopefully this would eliminate bubbles.
