Here is my latest DIY, compliments of roygt, he was the one who gave the link to reefcentral.. hehehe ty roy!
items needed
1 powerhead ( i used an existing precision 1000lph phead for this modding, i'm currently working on a seaquest600)
1 1/4" pvc coupling
1/8" rigid plastic tubing (from a corner filter )
1" long ordinary airhose
superglue
electric drill
PROPELLER????
I had trouble finding a propeller, the one from Lil's hobby shop costs P450 more expensive than my powerhead i had to find another....
well... to make it short... I made one from a strip of acrylic..
most of the procedures done is almost the same with the modding at reefcentral... if you want to do this modding? its quite simple. I'd be happy to help you if you want one
front view of the assembly...
here it is in the tank, not yet plugged
now running... as you can see it created a small water spout above, I had to submerge it atleast halfway in my tank to avoid sucking air at the same time sucking the sand below it.
this is just my first try on this modding, I hope my next try would be a lot cleaner..
I'm yet to discover the flaws. I haven't installed the stopper to make sure the propeller turns the right direction...
