remove the filter floss slowly and eventually and totally disappear

. Though LR filter those, is it enought? Better yet put LR in sump instead of filter floss since it is nitrate producer? (Sayang kasi filter floss ko eh :lol:

How much live rocks do you have? You should watch out for the bioballs and having live rocks at the same time. Both are good bio filters and will produce nitrates. Having live rocks as a biological filter allows for a slower nitrifying and denitrifying process, so the protein skimmer can remove the animal waste before it is converted to ammonia, nitrite and nitrates. Bioballs are efficient filters and breakdown waste and will produce nitrates faster and will compete with your skimmer. Mamili ka what kind of set up you want.

i use filter floss only when cleaning/blowing detritus off LR. i simply put filter floss on the sump intake (yung PVC from main tank to sump), to capture larger particles. i remove this afterwards.

if u really wanna see how filter floss can be bad, amuyin mo yung filter floss mo that stayed there after a week. super baho, amoy malansa. i don't think you'd want that in your system...

tama si fugu. pero dba reef ka (eventually?). so you can't use bioballs. LR lang talaga. i see you are donating your crushed corals? you can use some of these instead of floss. are you using CC na ba?

replace mo na lang yung filter floss atleast every three days. delikado nga yun pag tumagal.

kaya sabi slowly lang ang tanggal mo sa mga floss para di mabigla system mo kasi doon sya umaasa sa filtration.
