I am surprised that nothing sprouts from your live rocks? The rocks I get almost always has some sort of micro and macro algae that comes out in time and good lights. A month after removing all my tangs, macro algae are growing everywhere in my tank.

i think your lighting does it. i think the NO that we use are good for medium lighters, may like taxifolia, halimeda, cheato maybe? also, maybe because the macroalgae we have require a little bit more light, being collected in shallow waters.

Hindi ba pwedeng naka expose sa araw yung sump even for a couple of hours? Parang bog filter ang labas nyan, like the ones used in koi ponds.
