Re hyposalinity, the range should be 1.009-1.010, any higher than that would render the treatment useless.
Outbreaks in the tank are manifestation of poor nutrition, poor husbandry and stress (overstocking, fish aggressiion).. If the stressors are not there and if you have priperly quarantined your fishes, I can guarantee you won't see your fishes infected with crytpticaryon.
