hi guys. thanks for the replies. here are my answers and additional queries:
1. My setup is simple. I have 35G tanks with no sump, turbo in-tank skimmer, fluval 204 where i put my activated carbon, two hagen 301 powerheads for water circulation, four 18W NO bulbs (2 white + 2 actinic blue),liverocks, and very fine sand (0/0). I only use right now two of the four bulbs as i still don't have corals in the tank. (except for actino).
2. Liverocks are a mixture of several vendors (bioR, cartimar shops) so i am not really sure if they are ok. I am just hoping that it will develop to be "live" sometime in the future
3. If i start with soft corals, will the 4 x 18W (72W total) be enough? I really don't want to go beyond that coz i don't want our electricity bill to skyrocket and i also don't want to add a chiller.
4. I have read about sumps and it looks complicated and costly to me. Do i really need to have one or do some of you guys have setups that work without one? I don't mind adding a sump if it is really really important to have one. I will need help on that one for design and implementation considering i already have a running tank and it may be challenging to drill holes in the glass tank to put in some pipes for in/out to the sump.
5. Yung TM calcium test doesn't work dahil after putting in the reagents A & B, its suppose to turn light blue .. eh mine doesn't even change colors ... it still colorless. i tried several times and am sure i followed instructions to the letter. i guess the reagents are already expired
6. Jolt, how do i put it the TM calcium in the tank. do i just add it as in the instructions or do i need to dissolve it first in a separate container with water taken from the tank? i tried putting a small sample and i notice that hindi kaagad na dissolve sa tank and some of the fishes even tried to eat it... hindi ba delikado yun sa fishes? Need suggestions on how to introduce the TM biocalc... also does it really not affect ph and other tank parameters as TM boast on its package? ano ang experience mo sa TM?
7. Saan puedeng bumili ng working calcium test kit and how much? Also the thermoter with the hydrometer that i bought at BioR doesn't work. the hydro was ok but i don't trust thermo. Can you guys suggest a better quality thermo and where i can buy this?
Salamat
