Anemone Dying

Sir Chuck gud pm. Like to make inquiries bout anemone placed on my sand bed keeps on dying. Its the third time that i bought an anemone. While all my brains, flower pot coral, tube worm anemone are all doing fine. What could be the cause. TIA

Do you know what species of anemone that you are buying? Are the anemone white or turn white prior to dieing? I ask because quite often, most tanks do not provide enough PAR (light intensity) down at the bottom of the tank to maintain an anemone. Please try to describe what happens or how the anemone looks before they start to die. Describing your aquarium's equipment might also lead to a clue also. Here is some extra reading for you also:

You are most welcome, but I do have to stress that such losses are not well understood, it could be a lot more complicated than the simple thoughts I have on them, but what does appear to be common is that anemone do not do well over the long term regardless of who keeps them, but that can be said for many of our pets I suppose.

Very well said sir Chuck. I have read an article re: "Choosing your Next Anemone" He had kept his saddle carpet anemone for 7 years under 60W fluorescent light and will continue to grow if given better condition. I guess light is not an issue although we know that enough light must be met in order for them to thrive. Its a challenge, am eager to discover the probable cause.
