phyto culture

Sir chuck thanks for the phyto culture starter set, we got it from jason yesterday. Ive got some questions though:
1. will it reach a point that the water/culture will become saturated and will result to die off of the phyto? if not ...
2. is it possible just to keep on dosing the fertilizer ( regular basis ) to make it darker and more concentrated . ( like the one being sold in the market ) more concentrated , less amount of dosing.

if yes, what would be your suggestion in dosing fertilizer. ( how often and how much / good for 1 liter phyto )

FYI, we have a 1 liter of phyto starter w/ fertilizer w/c i think is good for 2 weeks only .

You want to be very carefull with the fertilizor, too much and it crashes the culture, which is evident by it starting to turn a very light brown. I can keep a culture going by simply taking out a cup of it and pour it into the aquarium and then take a cup of the aquarium's water and put that back into the culture with just a drop or two of fertilizor. This is something that is very hard to explain and you just need to get the feel for what works best.

Thanks Sir Chuck, may I know how many mL of tap water for a 1330mL of phyto starter culture? Maybe I will use RO/DI for my top off, just to be sure. I have a doubt in our tap water here, it may kill the algae

For my 100 gallons of tank water, I usualy just take a small drinking glass full and pour it into the refugium and let it circulate. Remember to take out a glass full of tank water afterwards since you would slowly raise your salinity each time you add salty phyto.

how often would i dose?:D would 2-3 glasses be ok for a total of 200g water volume? this can also be food for soft corals?:D

I was wondering whether your culture can self sustain itself if placed in a 20G AGA tank under the sun with an air pump, assuming that the culture had already multiplied by that much.
