You should be fine, such snails normaly do not go very deep, maybe a few cm at most. Should be easy to sift them out with your fingers. The only time disturbing a DSB is a problem is when you get down deep either by your own doing, or by having an animal such as burrowing / sifting gobys, or by having starfish that eat the life in the sand. The snails you have do not eat the life in the sand and only use it for a hiding place. You should see their little "snorkels" sticking up out of the sand as they wait for the scent of food to give them a reason to come out of hiding.

They are scavengers and will clean up any left over fish food or anything that dies, they may, and I have to stress MAY eat some of the small critters in the sandbed, but only near the surface. I tend to doubt it though but others have said that it might be a possibility. Its never been an issue for me. I have a few myself and when I am target feeding the corals with diced shrimp out of a syringe, they will jump up out of the sand and roam around in search of left overs. If a fish happens to die and you can not reach it due to the rock landscape, they and any worms will clean it up in one, maybe two days. Another little benefit from having them is that as they come and go out of the sand, they turn over the surface sand grains and deny algae growing on the grains of any light.
