problem with skimmer in the main tank is it takes up a lot of space, pangit tingnan, and mag leak ng microbubbles sa tank.. how big is your tank? i would rather convert my tank,to an AIO tank (all-in-one/ may divider para may sump sa gilid or likod).

in the end, its up to you.. queen skimmer is not really that good.. even if you modify it.. if you dont modify it, you'll be needing a 24W pump to make it work.. good skimmers now are only 9W rated for more than 120g.. also the queen skimmer does release microbubbles sa output niya which is harmful and unsightly.. I would save and buy Reef octopus HOB skimmers instead of using queen.. I have atleast 3 queens na nakatambak lang.. binigay lang sa akin kasi pangit nga.. pwede ka rin palagay ng dividers sa back part ng tank.. around maybe 18"x4"-6".. that would be my sump.. para pwede ako maglagay ng DSB and macroalgae if i want..

I would rather use chaeto and 23W cfl light for filtration than use a queen skimmer.. It would be more efficient in removing nutrients.. plus weekly waterchanges.. that's just me..
