I stumbled upon some site that suggests Table sugar as a way or method to reduce nitrates...since i'm Curious about it...I give it a go
so the day before I proceed with the Dosing...here's my Parameters...
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = "160"
Ph = 8.0
Ammonia = 0
My nitrates are way off the charts....
My Livestocks:
Bubble Coral
Actino
Zoas
Elegance Coral
Goniopora
Frogspawn
no fish....
at exactly 10:00 in the evening I dosed 1/4 tablespoon of sugar in my 25 gallon tank..
here's the result...at 10:00 in the morning, the skimmer is producing this...foul...skimmate...nitrate is down to between 40 and 80 ppm
