If you don't have a DSB and your having problems fighting nitrates, give this a try.. Gastos ka lang sa 5 gal. bucket, fine sand, and pvc pipe or hose.

cguro kung alang sump, pedeng nakalagay sa isang mas malaking container ung bucket tapos hahayaan mag-overflow tas ung overflow nya na nasa mas malaking container ung kukunan ng tubig pabalik.
magkakabit din ako kaya lang di ko alam kung sa tabi nung sump ko ilalagay or sa loob mismo ng sump.

what kind of sand do you, guys, think that's ok to use? could a coarse sand suffice? if not, do bioresearch stores sell sand that can be used?
