again bro, hyposalinity is 1.008-1.010..
to answer your questions:
1. at hypo salinity, skimmers doesnt work the same as in normal salinity.. your better off with an airstone and airpump..
2&3. sometimes in my QTs, i use an airpump and a foam filter only.. plus some wave maker.. or an overhead filter na dual output, 1 for water circulation and 1 dun sa filter.
4. mapapansin mo lang.. most important is monitoring ammonia.. pag steady na ammonia, change it 1-2 times a week..
5. i dont really QT my CUC but you can.. especially corals from the wild.. ang daming nakatagong parasites and HH sa mga wild caught corals.. but make sure hindi hyposalinity, sufficient light and good parameters..

1. yep! pwede yun.. like sa grow out tanks, minsan maliit yung fry kaya d pwede mag OHF.. although hindi pa ako nagkaroon ng fry.. pero better kung may OHF yun QT..
2. yung mga powerhead na 2 yung output.. parang ganito:

1 output papuntang OHF, yung 1 for circulation..
3. it depends sayo..for me, basta hindi 0 yung ammonia after 1-2 days, WC ng konte.. sa start kasi wala ka pang bacteria to convert ammonia to nitrite.. pag may waste products, tataas ammonia tapos dadami yung bacteria para sa nitrogen cycle.. pero pag nasobrahan sa taas, nakakamatay ng isda yung ammonia..
4. only fishes survive in hypo.. never hypo inverts and corals.. some fishes d nga pwede sa hypo.. pero d ko sure kung ano..
