1. Could be as some die off will happen on the liverock.
2. For a reef tank, I personally don't like crushed corals in the sump as they retain too much detritus. Some hang them so that it can be cleaned easily.
3. Yes becuase of increased light intensity.
4. Looks ok.
5. Best to use NSW. or if not try to use purified water with saltmix.

Try turbo snails, they are great in removing diatoms. But in time they will all be gone. Just do your regular water change and maintenance.

that happend to my tank when i was cycling it will slowly go away. what you can do is you can lightly brush the liverocks with the brown algae using a soft brush outside the tank in a container with saltwater. you can also decrease your photoperiod or you can turn off the MH while cycling. when your nitrates decreases you can buy turbos, they really help control brown algae. yung phos-zorb it takes about 5 days for it to decrease phosphates in a 50gal tank to desirable levels so for your tank medyo matagal tagal ng konti. deepwell water may contain silicates and phosphates
