question po mga guros paano po alisin ung amoy ng cologne?natapon sa tank ko namatay lahat ng LS ko...or hindi na po pwede gamitin equips po like skimmer kase may cologne na?

also, may help people here to give you an advice if they know more of your set-up (total volume size, etc) and the amount of cologne spilled into your tank...

pag nabuhusan ng toxic chemicals yung tank, ang magandang gawin diyan is linisin lahat, from equipments to live rocks to tanks, yung sa live rock pakuluin mo tpos ibilad mo sa araw, yung tank linisin ng maigi, tpos pray na lang na mawala yung chemicals totally, kasi wala tayong pantest ng cologne content sa tank natin.

baka may ibang suggestions pa yung mga gurus natin dito hehe.

ung tank ko po 100g po xia tapos yung cologne half bottle nung big denesnes yung pang baby?naglalaro kase baby ko sa tank yun..so buy nalang po ako ulit ng sand and liverocks?

Sorry for your loss. Just wash your tank, sump, pipes, liverock, etc with water and vinegar. then just let it dry for a while. Maybe a week or 2 then restart ulit. Good luck! Sana mura lang yung cologne na natapon! hahah!

+1 sa vinegar. to make sure, remove all rocks and sand. then punuin mo ng fresh water yung tank mo with all the equips and plumbing attached then pour in vinegar. maybe 1gal of vinegar? yung brown ang kulay para matapang

in short, run your tank as you would with saltwater, minus the rocks and sand ... but with a mix of vinegar and fresh/tap water. let it run for at least a week(?) then run for another week with fresh water only. lahat ng equips: pumps, skimmer, etc gumagana lahat.

pag ok na tank mo at running na lagay ka ng maraming activated carbon just to be sure lang kung may naiwan pang traces of cologne at least matatanggal

cologne is basically alcohol and fragrance, after water vinegar solution, u can fill ur tank with sea water, let it run for a couple of weeks, ad a damsel or chromis, if there ok, u can drain all the water and add a fresh one for a fresh start

just a quick sanity check... the original incident happened around sept 2010, i was wondering whether the problem still persist (hopefully not)...
