Chaeto bloom!

got my chaeto from sir Meynard last sept. 21.. haven't taken pix in its initial form, but i can say its medium quantity (size).. anywayz, during its first week, it even started to shrink.. i thought i did something wrong.. initially, i placed it on a separate bucket (yes po, a bucket.. i kinda quarantined it.. ) with 24/7 24w 6500k bulb.. after the first week, i transferred it in my sump.. same setup.. and now, it looks like this..


its now overflowing in its tray.. it wasn't this much when i transferred it.. basically covered just 1/2 of the tray..


now its very green and overflowing!


my tray is also starting to tilt due to chaeto bloom!

im thinking of changing photoperiod from 24hrs to 18hrs everyday.. and give me a couple of weeks more and i'll be able to share them too.. ^_^

malakas ba flow mo? how far is it from the light? bakit hindi ako makabuhay ng chaeto!!!!?

is it ok for the chaeto not to be in a tray? nag experiment kse ako ngayon tinanggal ko sa tray kse maliit available tray ko. and pag naka tray nawawala ang surface flow nahihinder ng tray. furthermore, may naiipon na mga stuff sa chaeto pag nasa tray and whenever i prune, nappunta sa water. so free floating lang sya.

distance from surface of water mga 4-6 inches. lit by 2x24W tornado. one warm white (2700k?) and one cool white (6500k?).

sunday ko sinimulan, right now my caulerpa is growing like hell, and pataas towards the light. no visible shrinking naman sa chaeto.

those liverocks na nasa dsb has tons of organisms. copepods i think, pati sa chaeto.

sure sir.. san pedro area po ako.. but im working near robinsons pioneer at mandaluyong.. cguro by next week sir, kc may nauna npo na dalawa eh.. kasi gawin ko sana 1/2 sakin, tapos ung other half, tig-1/4 ung mga ng-pm..

dko alam kung ok lng kung wala sa tray.. but if its working for you, as is na lng po muna.. ive read on another post na mabagal daw growth kapag nagtumbling sya at nsa sand bed.. for me, mabilis ung growth nung nsa tray na.. but i may try that experiment too.. lagay ako ng 1/2 sa sand bed at 1/2 sa tray.. lets see..
