Guso (Eucheuma spp.)

Has anyone tried Eucheuma spp. or Kappaphycus spp. (known in the southern Philippines as guso, not sure about the Tagalog name) for nutrient export? They are after all the most widely cultivated seaweed here in the Philippines, mostly used for making carrageenan, but can also be eaten raw.[/i]
