Macroalgae

lombard0> sir, i used 2 10-watt NOs when I still had gracillaria. plus reflected sunlight. gracillaria also likes turbulent flow nga pala, from my observation, macrolagae likes flow, they tend to grow faster.

I'm still wondering if I had ID'd the algae correctly, Gracillaria and Halymenia looks the same.

asparagopsis taxiformis (cotton candy)

sailor's eyeball (variety of valonia spp.) and valonia

gelidium latifolium

I've seen several species of the above stated macroalgae during our trip in calatagan. except for asparagopsis spp.

(bakasyon na, punta tayo calatagan mga sir! hehe)

apparently, these are invasive and hard to remove. especially valonia.

season's greetings!!!

ask ko lang po kasi kahapon i went to Cartimar and i saw this coral or algae that is mostly orange in color, a spikey appearance, attached to a rock and has a hard texture or quality when you touch it, my question is if its a coral/algae or sponge? if its an algae or sponge can i put it in my tank?
