Hi guys,
Okay, so I've been giving this a lot of thought and recently decided to get into the hobby after years of wanting my own sw tank. I am a total noob armed only with about 2 months worth of research mostly from available online information.
I have decided to start out with a simple newbie-friendly set up para hindi demanding kaagad on my end and para din ma-enjoy ko ang hobby na to. The set up will be a sump-less one which will be placed out in a shaded part sa garage. Below are the specs I'm thinking of:
TANK:
- 48x16x18 Shallow rimless with 3/8" glass and black silicone.
- Effective 60 gal.
- 2x1 Iron stand. Black with rubber matting.
FILTRATION:
- Tunze DOC Skimmer 9004
- Tunze Comline Filter 3162 (running SeaChem Seagel)
- Minimal live rock
- BB
WATER MOVEMENT:
- 2 x Jebao WP10 on twin controllers
LIGHTING:
- I haven't decided yet (DIY maybe?) I could probably get away with lower NO florescent tubes since may direct sunlight naman available for the tank considering its placement.
FISH:
- 5 x Blue/Green Chromis
- 2 x Clarkii or Tomato Clowns
- 1 x Coral Beauty Angel
- 2 Skunk Cleaner Shrimps
- Nasarius and Marine Nerite Snails
CORALS:
- A variety of Xenia Sp. (It'll be an exclusive Xenia tank, I just really like the look! )
I've already commissioned the tank from a place called FishHabitat by ACJ Petstore and kuya Edwin from San Joaquin in Pasig. It should be ready in two weeks. In the meantime, I've also already ordered my Tunze gear online and am expecting it by the end of the month.
Feedback and/or ideas regarding the set up and equipment are welcome.
