Dameru's 15G Fowlr tank

Hello po!
Bago lang po ako sa saltwater aquarium, gusto ko lang po i-share un tank ko para po ma-criticize nyo po yung design and hopefully makakuha po ako ng good advise sa mga experienced aquarist. Wala po ako test kits kaya wala po ako maipost about my water chemistry but hopefully next month po baka meron na. I use Instant Salt lang po for my salt water kasi wala po ako sasakyan to transport NSW from cartimar.





15 gallon glass aquarium
3kgs live rocks
3kgs sand
1kg crushed coral
sk-05 resun skimmer
waver2000 resun wavemaker
jebo P900 600l/hr power head

temp 30-33

Initially po gusto ko sana sea horse kahit po isang pares kaso from my research nalaman ko na mahirap pala sila alagaan at hindi pwede sa masyado mataas na temp kagaya ng tank ko. But still i would like to know po kung meron na po nakapagtry mag alaga ng sea horse sa high temp? if not possible po talaga, ano po kaya maganda alagaan sa tank ko? Pwede po kaya ako mag-alaga ng garden eel? or other small eels kung aalisin ko na po fish ko?

Bro yung skimmer mo na sk-05 di siya ganun ka useful sana sk-300 nlng ng resun,
okay yung AIO na setup mo nag nitrogen cycle ka ba? bili ka sana kahit yung nitrate test lang.. importante kasi talaga test kits lalo na pag di pa matured yung tank..

Hello,

You could put an acrylic sheet to cover the clutter at the back of your tank... also since you said the tank is FOWLR, you might want to have that gorgonia coral adopted as it is severely bleached and is losing tissue based from your top-down shot. Sayang naman kasi.

May I also ask what kind/brand of salt you use?

First and foremost, you need to invest on test kits specially bago pa lng ung tank mo. You might experience sudden spike of ammonia during the coming days. Regarding sa salt mix mo, IME blue bag will give you problem when it comes to coral and inverts and questionable pa ung purity ng pagkagawa niya. Might as well go for Blue Treasure na branded, siguro Php20-30 difference lang pag per kilo compared to blue bag of carti.

Bro ang taas ng water SG mo pati temperature ng water, and your skimmate is not good kung yan nga results sa picture ng bote nasasayang lang energy and water mo mag sk-300 ka na lang as per creamoh mas effective yun. Ganda ng mga rocks mo ah

Judging from this pic, what that skimmer needs is a little tweaking:



palitan mo lang yung venturi niyan tapos lakihan mo yung volute then mesh mod mo yung impeller mas efficient pa yan sa bagong sk300.

Again dameru, have the gorgonia adopted by other reefers. Sayang yan mukhang malapit nang matigok.

Mataas po ba sg? binase ko po kasi dun sa binilan ko ng isda sa carti, nun bumili po ako ng hydrometer sinukat ko po un tubig nila, ano po ba dapat salinity?

About the temperature po, medyo mataas nga po, medyo nanghihinayang po kasi ako sa kuryente kung mag chiller ako, haha pero medyo bumababa naman na po kasi almost rainy season na po.

About the gorgonia po im willing to give it to anyone near my place dito po sa laguna, taga Cabuyao, Laguna po ako.

Typical salinity is 35ppt or 1.026 in Specific Gravity. 1.024-1.026 range is fine.

Check mo yung calibration table dito, ang SG kasi ng mga hydrometers naka-depende sa lamig ng tubig.

Keep in mind that most hydrometers sold here have varying reads. Kahit parehas pa ng brand.

Kung may malapit na reefer diyan sa inyo na may refractometer, pa-calibrate mo yung hydrometer mo. Yung Instant Ocean hydrometer ko nasa 0.05 ang difference sa reading ng refractometer eh.

Wag mong intindihin yung init sa tank mo kung hindi ka naman maglalagay ng corals. Kung FOWLR ka lang talaga, focus ka lang sa pag maintain ng water parameters mo at sa ilalagay mo na fishes.

Kung wala kang makunan na enkamat mesh dito, pwede na ito:



pwede na rin kahit isang layer lang ng green chicken mesh/gutterguard, yung nabibili sa hardware


Wag mo masyadong kapalan yung mga patong, baka mag-stall yung pump.

Regarding volute modification check mo ito, assume mo na resun or seaquest pump yan:



Mas malaki yung intake at yung intake chamber, mas malakas ang higop.

tama yang sinabi ni seth and mindfreak nakalimutan ko i-suggest sa iyo yang modification ng skimmer hehe sorry yung skimmer ko naka mesh modification din katulad niyan gamit ko is enkamat. kung hindi ka naman maglalagay ng corals ok lang kahit mababang SG, yung temperature mo na 33deg hindi pang corals yan bro baka maging sinigang yang mga corals mo sayang lang. Yan ang downside ng mga nano tanks if you dont have a chiller or not located sa malamig na lugar i suggest dont keep corals.
