Hi RP friends. I finally mustered enough courage to make a thread of my tank (with friends' continuous egging - Blackwiddow, Sea Turtle and the master himself, Jourdy).
To start, my tank's dimensions are 60" x 22" x 22". Rimless, super clear and tempered made by Mang Ramon. Over flow is slotted acrylic about 36" long with 2 x 1" drains and 2 x 3/4" returns run by Eden pump. It was originally fitted with a Rio17HF but the noise is driving me nuts therefore i replaced it.
I had a carpenter build my cabinet made out of marine plywood and with 4" x 4" vertical and horizontal supports. The front doors are sliding and the side doors are awning. All doors were wrapped horizontally with 1" x 1" wood for aesthetics and to somehow blend with the overall theme of my house. I finished it with wood oil since that's what i normally use for woods.
For my lights, I am using a DIYed LED light with 8 x 10W royal blue, and 12 x 10W 10000k whites - if i remember it right, they are Epileds and Bridgelux. All 10W LEDs are fitted with 60 degree optics. I also added 7 x 3W LEDs since I wanted to play with the colors for the "POP" effect. An acrylic enclosure was custom made based on my design. Hanging kits were from Soler and Caloocan.
My subtank is about 30 or 50 gallons (im not sure, so forgive me) with three chambers. First chamber is for an in-sump ATS lighted with DIY LED grow lights (under experimentation and observation), second chamber is only LR and third, return. As I have mentioned, the filtration is an experiment but I have the option to retrofit a skimmer in the future if I decide to.
At the moment, I only have a few LS mostly softies and LPS. I also only have a few fishes and inverts (except for snails ). They are 2 x percs, 2 x six line wrasses, 3 x antenna gobbies, 2 CS, about 3 or 4 small halloween crabs, turbo and normal nassarius and turban snails.
I plan to have a mixed reef in about 3 or 6 month's time depending on the time my tank will eventually become stable. Its currently running for 3 months only.
I have crappy pics taken by my crappy hands on my DSLR and PNS so I would let the master himslf, Jourdy, do the honors in posting the pics since he has an awesome camera and his camera taking skills is superb
Thanks for looking.
