@ thurrmac peltier chips is a chip that cools on one side and heats up on the other side. usually used on PC's for overclocking.

but if you are aiming for efficiency, evaporative cooling is the best. Mura pa, fans lang ang puhunan. Talo ka nga lang sa evaporation.

so mga boss,,, do you think pc fans eh pwede na sa tank ko? May 220v ba na fan? Kasi kung yung mga regular na 12 v eh wala naman akong masasaksakan...

Sa 5g, pwedeng pwede! Bantay lang sa evaporation rate kasi maliit yung water volume mo. Gawa ka na rin ng auto top-off madali lang naman yun.

Not sure if it will work on an 18G.

Web says it is usually used on small tanks. I dont exactly know what is the definition of small.

Manila aquaria has the Dophin brand peltier based chiller. Don't know what the capacity is for that as well.

Just remember that peltier based coolers are dependent on the environment as well.

Say the room temp you have currently is 31C and the peltier is able to pull the water to 28c. if the room temp drops to 28c then usually the water will go down to 25c as well. And when room temp goes up to 34c water temp will go up to 31c.

That is my guesstimation, no real science to back me up here.

peltier coolers are not efficient.. correct me if i'm wrong.. pero peltier coolers operate at the rated power rating.. so yung dophin, if i remember correctly nasa 75W.. so the whole time nagpapalamig siya, 75W siya naka-on.. most probably, the whole day lalo na pag summer.. unlike pag chiller, 5 min naka-on the, off 15min, depende sa setting, etc. they are very dependent on the ambient temperature.. i remeber when we were at malaysia, yung water dispenser nila, peltier yung gamit.. kasi walang compressor.. hindi man lang lumamig yung tubig..

@dave, relaks lang sa pag gamit ng "," at "?" nakakahilo.. tanong mo lang, may sasagot diyan.. simple lang yung ac/dc converter.. parang nagcharge ka lang ng cellphone.. yung cherger yung converter, yung cellphone yung fan.. wire lang.. ganun lang ka simple..

adaptor is the ac/dc thing. charger ng cellphone, charger ng wireless phone, adaptor ng router, modem. Charger ng cellphone na siguro pinaka common sa panahon na ito. But usually 5VDC lang mga charger ng cellphone. sa mga electronic shop and ace hardware, true value, raon, cdrking meron nyan.
