There are complete test kits available and the most common brand is API. You can check out at our sponsors if you are interested... the kit usually costs less than 1K. You can also borrow a test kit from a friend so you can monitor your parameters while cycling (that's what I did in my case).

There is nothing wrong in keeping a nano/pico setup as long as you don't overstock your system too much because overstocking without giving your system to adjust can crash the entire thing. Plan and research on the specimens you want to keep, stock the tank little by little, and prepare for a lot of work (temp monitoring, frequent water changes and top-offs)!

Pwede po bang gumamit ng charcoal para sa alternative ng activated carbon? saka may naka tengang studying lamp shade na 20 watts pde ba yung gamitin?

Charcoal is ok though it was used before until activated carbon took over because you can place it in your system for more or less than a month until you can replace it and yes charcoal has less surface area for the material to absorb the organics.

Mushrooms and zoanthids are one of the corals made for beginners because they can adjust to your 'little mistakes' and will open up even with a simple 50/50 daylight and actinic lamp setup. Research more and plan on what to keep.

I asked that similar question for my 5 gallon pico but they say that this model is not efficient. I say (and others will agree) go for the Resun SK-300 skimmer. More efficient and a larger collection cup. I costs less than 1K in cartimar.

Well the usual prices for that particular model is usually between 1-1.2K. Pwede ka naman siguro tumawad sa Cartimar.

Pwede naman skimmerless basta malakas ang filtration mo and very religious sa water changes. Find a HOB filter or OH Filter that is made for a 10 gallon tank. Get the known brands like Resun or Eheim.

Get a wavemaker para walang dead spots sa rocks para hindi mag-accumulate ang detritus so that makuha ng filter mo. I use Resun Waver-2000 for my pico but it also works well for 10 gallons since the pump is rated to 25 gallons.
