Agreed. Needs quite a bit of improvement.

Skimmers do have their place in any marine aquarium and when used well can be a very powerful tool. Of course crappy skimmers are useless but if you are willing to spend for a good quality one, its well worth the investment. How else are you supposed to efficiently remove the excess nutrients in your system?

With an ATS, it does remove nutrients but not until they have already turned into the nitrates and phosphates that they absorb. With a level of nutrients that is high enough, your corals will turn brown before the ATS can effectively remove all that. Chaeto and mangroves operate on this same principle. They are unable to remove the nutrients till its already there.

Skimmers also have the added benefit of increased aeration for your tank and all the benefits that come with that. I am not against the other ways of removing nutrients myself but i dont understand what frame of mind would be against the use of skimmers when faced with its benefits. Check all the TOTM on RC and even the nice tanks here in RP, they all use skimmers.

nice. nag post na rin ng pics ng nano nya. mas OK nga siguro sir kung may sump ka. just an idea. susubaybayan ko tong tank mo sir thurrmac. hanggang sa susunod na kabanata.

dipende naman syo yan sir. kng may space and budget ka for ats and skimmer then go. kng limited space para sa 2 kailangan mong mamimili ng mabuti.

ako yung ats ko kaka-up lang yesterday.... inaayos ko na rin yung refugium ko... pansin ko same tayo ng hinahanap ngayon eh mangroves... may ginawa ako sa refugium ko ah pinag isa ko na lang sila ng ats ko... yung bagsak ng water ko from ats bagsak sa refugium... pero naglagay ako ng pangsalo ng tubig para hindi magulo masyado water sa refugium... litaw isa na lang ilaw ko for fuge and ats...
