Eespup's Nano tanks

Hello RP.

I was able to have the opportunity to revive Jourdy's Nano tanks, and being a newbie to this hobby I would appreciate it a lot if you can comment on my setup and some improvements para at least I can say na na revive ko ang award winning tank ni Jourdy (Hehe, thanks bro for the cheap setup!)

DT Tanks - 20 gal and 7.7 gal
Sump - 20 gal.
Protein Skimmer - Resun SK300 (I think maliit ata ito para sa setup ko, impulse buying sa carti kasi)

Top tank with T5 lights

Whole setup w/ sump


3 days pa lang ako nag cycle kaya madyo di pa stable ang water params ko. I brought the basic API test kits sa carti and basic hydrometer.

Ammonia - 2
Ph - 8
Nitrite - 1
Nitrate - 20

I think kulang pa ata LR ko. Need ko ba taasan yung sand sa sump ko?

Uy, maganda tong set up na to from Jourdy. I was going to buy it, naunahan mo lang ako, Eespup. Good luck with it.

Updates:

Already placed LS on my tanks, masyado ata na overload anyway, I am planning to give some of my percs to my firend who will also setup a tank. Free lang kasi na binigay ung percs sa DLBD gatchalian e. hehe.

Top tank:
- 1 small Lionfish (recently brought to terminate the 2 damsels)
- 2 yellow tail damsels
- 1 banded coral shrimp
- 1 purple tip haitian anemone

Middle Tank:
- 4 false perculla (2 big, 2 small)
- 4 turbo snails
- 1 banded coral shrimp
- 2 gonioporas
- 1 Hammer coral
- 1 brain coral and 1 small rics
- 1 Green bubble tip anemone.

Skimmer - Resun SK300 (I need to upgrade to larger skimmer...ipon ipon muna for now to but Reef Octopus)
Sump tank - 20 gal. with Live rocks, new chaeto, activated carbon, skimmer and return pump.

Water paramerters:
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
PH - 8.2
Nitrate - 60 (Very high indeed)
Phosphate - 3 to 4 (High also)

Question?
1. I am doing 15% water change every week. What other options can i do to lower my NO3 and PO3.?
2. Since I already have chaeto which I think i have to upgrade the lighting also. What is the ligh requirement of a chaeto? I only used regular flourescent desk lamp..

Any comments or suggestions from our gurus and members will be highly appreciated. See pictures below.

hehe, nasa sump tank sir choy, sa return from dt. Maliit lang skimmer ko, yung resun sk300 lang, kaya im planning to upgrade sa mas malaki, kaya cguro mjo mabilis tumaas nitrates ko. Ano kaya maganda brand except of course sa reef octopus?

the brain and the yuma are bleached. that fanworm looking creature is a tube anemone. they eat fish and other passerby so be careful.

thanks sir grahf11, mukha ngang bleached pa yung brain, 30 deg.kasi temp ngayon dito sa tank ko. Yung tube anemone, wala pa namang nabibiktima, pero nagfeed na ako ng chopped shrimp, lakas pala kumain nyan.

Still battling with high Nitrate (40-60ppm) and Phosphate (2-3). Will do 10% water change this weekend. Chaeto not yet doing its job. hehe.

NH3- 0 ppm
N02 - 0 ppm
NO3 - 5 ppm
PO4 - 5 ppm (still battling because of the contaminated high PO4 NSW i brought from Carti.. badtrip!) Planning to do regular WC 20% weekly.
PH - 8.2
Currently dosing vodka, 3 weeks pa lang.

ang ganda ng tube worm mo sir, kaingit... magkano kuha mo dyan?

sa DLBD ko nabili yung tube worm, sa Carti ata na shop nila minsan lang magkaroon. Php 180 ata un. Pero di ko din soya masyado recommended kasi mga 2 fishes ko na din ang nahuli nyan at kinain, tapos malaks pa mang sting ng ibang fishes, kaya mostly clown fishes and isda ko. Pero kung sa ganda, maganda tlga tingnan lalo na pg busog, bukang buka yung mga tentacles niya.
