15 G Nano

Hi RP!
I have a 15G, long 34" x 9" x 9.5" (L x W x H) sumpless and skimmerless tank which has been around for 7 months now.

Livestock List:
2 Blue Tank;
2 CS (alive til now);
1 Ocellaris;
3 Nems;
1 Lawnmower Blenny.

It used to look like this , until i had an Ich outbreak and wiped out all the fish in the tank.

Anyway i redid everything ( new LR, 75% water change) and now it looks like this.


I have been re-cycling this for about a month now so that the Ich parasite will be eliminated.

So im planning to create a new anemone and clownfish tank, and was wondering if my old equipment is good enough.

Equipment List:
Regular hang on filter ;
2 wavemakers (Resun).

Lighting
(1) 18 Watt SERA Diazblue Deep Sea Special;
(1) 21 Watt Omni T5 6500k Daylight.

Planned Livestock:
either:
A pair of Ocellaris
or
A single maroon;
still the (2) CS
and
3-4 BTA's

My concern is, will my lighting be enough for the 4 nems?
and
Will my filtration be enough for the entire tank?

Will be happy to replace/change the equipments should it not suffice.

i assume that you have blue tangs*.. can't see your pix kasi..

imo, the lights will not affect your nems, since they are not photosynthetic.. but i think they're insufficient in you're planning to keep bta's..

sir choy i think what he means by nems is anemones.. akala ko din nung una, nemos.. your equipment can do but mas better if you add a skimmer.. unless you want to do huge WCs.. i suggest to add a skimmer.. maybe a sk-300.. haven't used that yet pero seems good.. i also haven't used that kind of lighting so i dont know how bright that is..

Wahaha! There seems to be no way out of it no?? maybe just cut the crap out of them maybe? haha! I've read in other forums that some people cut theirs if they are about to grow e. But i dunno if that is at all possible in my case:| haha! Thanks for your opinions though

Anemone pala si nems Anyway, like Obet said adding a skimmer will improve your system and minimize your weekly water changes. Yup the resun sk-300 is just right for your 15g. If your tank is rimless it will be mounted using the suction cups and the hook. pero kung di naman suction cups lang. it won't take so much space and not an eye sore because maganda design niya For your HOB filter you can use it to house a filter media like activated carbon for example. Para malinaw water mo.

For your lighting, go for high output t5's. if your tank is 34" long maybe a 36" fixture is ok. 9" deep ba tank mo?

For your nems, they need a mature tank (8months up) and keeping 2-3 can be very tedious. One dies it can crash your tank.

Try softies and easy corals first, consider also the bioload of your tank. Adding also a digital thermometer and cooling fans will be great

I use the resun brand. i get mine at metro petshop at carti. mura kasi dun. but you can try the other brands also. Yup a plate coral looks like a anemone, but i doubt if the clowns will host. try going to carti now daming plate corals.
