Question, yung water additives (ung mga calcium and other stuff) na nilalagay sa water, meron ba kaung masasuggest na cheap and effective?

So far, yung nasa cabinet ko lang na water additives ay Super Reef Iodine, Calcium Plus-Supplement, Reef Buffer, Reef Calcium Plus at Marinvit.

Base doon sa mga nababasa ko sa mga bote, walang nagdadagdag ng magnesium sa mga additives ko.

- It has an adjustable clamp so it should fit.

We've been using the tap water around our house, it hasn't been affecting the fishes' health. Ndi ko lang alam sa corals. Pero meron naman kaming Tetra Aquasafe (hindi ko na masyadong naalalang gamitin )

- Short term maybe it wont affect fishes. But tap water has other chemicals in it aside from chlorine that is not good for your livestocks.

Inestimate ko ung temperature reading sa tank namin (sa hydrometer may thermometer), 33 deg celsius yung highest reading nya, so ang init talaga nung tank kapag naka-on cguro yung lights.

- IME, the thermometer on the hydrometer is not accurate. Get a separate one preferably a digital one as that is more accurate. And yes, temp will increase when you turn on your lights. So it is better if you have a cooling system in place to maintain a stable temp.

Tinapon na kasi ng kasambahay namin yung box ng filter eh, so clearer pictures na lang mabibigay ko.

- Looks like a type of trickle filter. I guess you can use that for GFO and GAC. You can also use filter floss in that but just make sure to wash the filter floss every 2 days as that will become a nitrate factory if you don't keep it clean.

Up to you. But IME mas ok pa rin to use activated carbon as this will prevent the yellowing of your water. Ingat lang sa pag gamit ng GFO as too much of this will bring down your alk. Plus you have to change this out every 2 months. Baka better if you use macroalgae (Cheato) to control excess nutrients in your tank.

GFO madami brands. MH carries rowaphos. DA carries Phosban. Both are great brands. Quite expensive though. You can also try brightwells Phosphate-e or Phosphate-r. MH carries brightwell products as well. As for carti, i think meron din dun but im not sure. I hardly go there anymore.

Umayos na yung temp problem ng 25g ko. Hehe, salamat sa iyo at kay Lord. Bumili kami ng 2 Dymax Cooling Fan sa MH. Nakita ko nga doon yung Rowa-phos. Goodness, Php 1475 siya. Got an API Reef Master Test Kit also.

So, params sa huli kong test:

Calcium: 600 ppm (sobra sobra!)
Carbonate Hardness: 8 dKH
Phosphate: 5.0 ppm (ang dami!!!)
Nitrate: 0 ppm (yehey)
Temperature: 27 degrees Celsius (most of the time ganyan siya, if not, mga 28 degrees Celsius)

Nag-try ako uli ng mga corals. Kumuha ako ng tree coral, tooth coral (galaxy coral), lobed brain coral, at torch coral. Colors don't look so good (don't know kung dahil sa phosphates or kulang yung light dahil nasira yung isa sa dalawang bulb or both). They lasted for a week pa naman. Hopefully more. Same fish pa rin (2 years na ata silang buhay). May bagong dagdag na 2 brittle sea stars at isang Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (nakapag-molt na siya 1 beses, astiggg)

Anyway, problem ko pa rin ata yung top-off water ko, yung lights, at yung phosphates.
