Looks like Aiptasia to me or something similar? Considered a pest but some like them.

Not necessarily. If it's in the fuge, it might be okay. Anthony Calfo has a 'fuge with macroalgae and aiptasia. Basta huwag lang sa main tank...

I have a few aiptasia in my main tank. I have not gotten around to buying a peppermint shrimp to eat them yet. I do inject them with vinegar from time to time. Kalkwasser paste will also work by feeding them the paste.

oo nga bossing, gano katagal na yan? daming ganyan recently sa cartimar eh. looks pale na, pero baka sa ilaw lang. problema ko sa ganyang caulerpa, daming aptasia, tapos namamatay din kagad, even with intense lighting, 24/7.

Grape caulerpa is not the best choice for refugiums because they go into a vegetative cycle or go sexual and die off, releasing toxins back into the water. If there are other Macro algae available, like the red Gracillaria or Halameda are better choices. More info here: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/macralgalgcontfaqs.htm

I have my refugium on reverse lighting times so the ph does not change at night. On 14 hours at night and shut off in the morning.

ewan ko kung ano yung nabili kong red algae. di ko alam if it was gracilaria, kasi sa picture sa liveaquaria, fine yung threads. yung sakin hindi. basta, nung namatay, naging green, tapos nagspead yung red color nya sa sump, ambaho pa. buti na lang nasa second sump ko yun, na di pa connected sa main tank, alhough may powerhead at lights na. kung nagkataon, yari system ko.

halimeda is the best na siguro. mamatay man, nahuhulog lang yung "leaves."
