White slime

I just noticed my maroon clown fish has this white slime on his lower body and lower lips including bottom of his gills.. akala ko nung una just came from the newly bought anemone na nililigawan nya but after a long observation, napansin ko parang buong lower part nya meron pala, then may rotting parts yung fins nya, is this fatal or nakakahawa sa other fishes, right now I put him sa sump ko. to further observation but worry ko baka makahawa sya since sa sump lang siya nakalagay. thanks

Never seen before like white slime. Really Awesome. This is one of the most fantastic thing I had seen in my life.

Highly contagious disease. It is called Brooklynella Infection. It started as a white patches and continue to spread to the body. It will affect the fins and kills so that the fish can't breath because it produces mucus in it's gills. Treat it with formalin 35 percent in a bucket of water and put in a quarantine tank and you can continue to treat it with formalin immersion or copper treatment at 0.3 or other are 0.4 according to the bottle.

Some people reference the white flies, but that simply does not matter. Then I came across the information I needed, and found my answe. This little guy up on a plant and start to spit it essentially viscous substance bubbling around themselves

May ganito yun false perc ko! HELP!!! Wala po ako quarantine tank and reef tank ako, ano po pwede ko gawin??

@jazz -- try to isolate the fish (baka mahawa ibang fish mo). kahit small container. wilkins na 1.5gallon. lagyan mo airpump. try mo methylene blue pero merong sukat yun ha.

hi, thanks, pero i noticed sa percula lang ata siya dumadapo? wala pa ko napapansin na white slime sa sailfin tang and butterfly ko. namatay na kanina un last percula ko.. mawawala po ba un virus pag nag fishless din ako for 1 month same sa ich?

1 month fishless i think for ich only. ginawa ko dati fishless pero not sure kung umubra sa ich. pinalakas ko nalang mga fishes ko by giving them food with garlic eh.

IME, sa clowns lang ata kumakapit yung "white slime", yung tangs ko before sa ich lang natetepok.

Ill focus nalang muna sa corals, mas mabilis pa sila alagaan kesa sa fishes hehe anyway, hindi tinatablan ng ich ung lawnmower goby and starfish ko ata. Sila nalang un hari sa tank ko pati un 3 shrimps haha

Clown will dig around in the sand clearing an area for themselves. Mine have done this, and he had a white patch around his mouth. I would not associate it with any disease. It may go away depending on your clown behavior.

Does Brooklynella affect anemones? May nakita kasi ako na parang sapot/slime na hawig nung sa Brooklynella sa BTA. Ano po kaya yun?
