I don't totally agree with this mindset. Books and extensive researches were already conducted at a high cost to these animals, by "experts" no less. Why experiment further on these animals when we already have proper protocols and guidelines available and in place? One of our members has a habit of doing this and learns from the death of the animals. I would personally leave the experimentation to the marine biologists, this is their forte. Just my 2 cents. :wink:

Well for me I don't want to take the risk even if the literature says this and that. I would not risk for my fishes to die by just using this garlic thing. By the way its hard to contradict things when you yourself have taken the risk of using garlic. :lol:

I see no contradiction, I followed guidelines concerning garlic and did not subject my fishes to anything that is remotely dangerous. I do not go out and experiment on my reef without someone paving the way, namely, researchers with credentials to back up their claims. But my previous posts is not just about garlic. I am trying to address the issue whereby people disregard what is common knowledge among marine fish and reef keepers and experiment on their own. As I mentioned above, there are proper protocols and guidelines concerning a variety of things in our hobby.
