Scale "skin" problem

Noticed this early last week...

Last weekend I saw the problem improving but this afternoon the 'wound' seems to be bigger...

Any insights on this?

My first reaction was it being Lympho, which is a viral disease that has no known cure other than ensuring pristine water conditions and providing an enriched varied diet.

But.. It almost looks like something hanging onto the fish? Hard to make out any real details though.

How hard is it to catch this fish? If it would not stress the fish too greatly, could you put it into a small retangular glass (tiny tank) so that you could get a very upclose photo of the affected area.

If not, might my be of use to you.

I've been trying to catch the fish for the past few nights without any success. Will try to get a better shot tomorrow.
