Pop eye treatment ?

Anybody successful in treating pop eye ?

I got two angles under qurantine for more than 3 months already. Tried almost all medication and WC regiments to no avail. Aside from the eyes both looks healthy and eating very well.

I've seen my black saddleback clownfish and scopas tang nag ka pop eye din and I feed them everyday Marine AFN with garlic (pellets) within a week nag heal...one part of the eye lng nag pop.

Ok will try the Marine AFN, were did you buy the pellets ?

Same thing one eye lang may pop .

Just remember though I've been feeding my fishes with Spectrum Plus Garlic, maybe the garlic is not the answer (cure) Mmmmmmm....

The Cortez angel is 4months na , while the Asfur angel is 3 months . Both are in my QT tank doing well except for the POP eye.......am getting frustrated na.

If I[m not mistaken Streptomycin and Cephalosphorins are use for gram negative bacterias but I dont know what is the right dosage when it comes to fishes. Both are bactericidal and broadspectrum drug meaning it can also kill other bacterias. Im not a fish expert ha just sharing some info.

Thanks Don for the info. .....actually that's one of my main problem is the dosage for over the counter medication. Tried asking an MD once and when I told him it was for a fish

Sadly dead na my Cortez and Asfur that I've been nursing in their own QT for the past 6mos and 5 mos. respectively . It was not the pop eye that caused their demise but the heat that killed them both !!!

Pop eye is a symptom of internal bacterial infection and not a disease in itself. If your fish is eating, I recommend a diet drug of foods. Otherwise. I had some success in combining nalidixic acid and kanamycin sulfate. Pop eye is usually after the disease is very advanced and difficult to treat.

A variety of physical injuries or non-infectious and infectious diseases can cause this clinical condition. Usually Popeye in itself not contagious to other fish in the community.In most cases where Popeye arising from eye trauma, not the ugly looking eye does not seem to affect the fish's overall health.
