sea urchins reef safe???

hi guys ask ko lang if sea urchins are reef safe??i found one kasi sa tank ko bigla nalang lumabas.black pointed sya na round yung body..nglalakad sya at lumalaki na rin. do i remove it or pabayaan ko lang sya dun kinakabahan kasi ako. .try to post pics tomorrow...thanks rp..

kung long ang spines niya definitely hindi siya reef safe... other sea urchins are pero nid mo pa rin tignan kasi most likely hindi.. heheh.....

Most urchins are reef safe. Longspine urchins(if you are refering to the diadema) are most definitely reef safe but they are poisonous to humans.Urchins dont eat corals. They eat algae and are one of the only creatures to eat coraline.

wa! nawindang mundo ko... safe ba? bat sa mga nabasa ko hindi safe ang long spines na sea urchins? may be it all depends on the temperament of these creatures... if they develop an appetite for your corals then those arent reef safe... if they get sufficient food that they like then they are reef safe...

can sea urchins cause problems with tangs? i've suspected a stray sea urchin hitchhiker in my display tank caused a problem with one of my tangs... this caused a gaping gash in the side of the tang.

guys eto yung sinasabi ko na urchins..not sure if urchins tlga or not..reef safe ba ito??ng roroam sya sa mga corals ko at mga corals tumatabi tlga..do i remove it or not?? have no idea kasi sa mga urchins..bgla nlng kasi lumabas sa tank ko..

ung short spine ko mukang reef safe kc 3months na sya sakin so far so good... hirap lng ako pakainin cya kpag na bottom or somewhere na mhirap maabot ng foods... sometimes pag my dedz akong fish or shrimp sa knya ko pinpakain, ubos nmn sa knya...
