Shell-LESS Nassarius Snail

Yesterday, I checked my tank before leaving for work and I was surprised to see an odd looking snail, then I realized that it was my Nassarius snail out of his shell. I rushed up to take my camera and took some shots.

I have no idea what happened to this snail... I hope he will survive.

Water Params: Nitrate=0 , Phospate=0, Alk=12dKH, pH=8.2, temp=27degC, salinity=1.024

ayus yan bro ahh.. baka naghahanap na ng ibang shell.. ung white na hermit ko binalik ko uli sa sump, nakita ko na tinaob ung isang nassarius at mukhang may masamang balak..

weird. if im not mistaken snails grow with their shell?

i had the same experience last december. when i was cleaning the tank with the cleaner, i accidentally twisted the shell of a astea snail and it came off. the snail was alive for three days.
