yeah thats what i've been told and mostly read.

anyway i got myself 4 feather starfish today.. 2 red, 1 blue and 1 green. all reaching up to 8 inches in diameter if they spread.

lets see how long they will last in my tank.

just an update regarding keeping feather starfish

the two red died months ago. i think it just lasted a month in my tank.

but the Blue and Green are doing OK! they did not shrink and lose color.

so if you guys want to keep a feather starfish, go for the green and blue one.

I'll post some pics tom. though its best to take pictures at night time because this is the time when they extend their tentacles.

on second thought, i took photos of it.

here's my green feather starfish, i added them into my tank last sept 11, 2010. they've been in my tank for 4 months now and still they're doing fine.

this is the green feather starfish

the blue one is hiding behind my rocks and not extending its tentacles. kinda hard taking pics of it. i had to take photos from the top of the tank.

50 pesos yung huling bili ko nyan.
Natunaw yung akin dahil hindi ako nag-tap-off ng ro water for 7 days.
Tumagal lang sa akin ng 1 month.

sensitive nga sila sa changes in salinity. but in my own experience, the longest i did not top off was almost two weeks. i think they are more sensitive to nitrates than salinity. but i did not keep that bad practice, now i have a DIY ATO to maintain my salinity to a constant level.
