mas maganda ata may skimmer...

try muna walang skimmer bastat 10 % water change every week...

imc/omc...

50 gals...
no sump..
Live Rocks...
1 sun sun wavemaker 6watts

@aldwin - sir ano ung imc/omc?

Update ko lng, nag punta ako cartimar kanina, I decided to get a skimmer para maganda. Excited nako to set up my tank.

Good day po mga sir...complete newbie po ako sa saltwater aqaurium.Joined the RP to read informative details on maintaining the hobby. Para di naman po sayang investments natin. Eto po ang currently set up ko 3 days from now
DIY Wooden Table Cabinet
22 kilos RED SEA Reef Salt (mas mura pag bilhin na lang ung isang timba..good for 6 months siguro kung weekly water change)
UP-Aqua Refractometer
Digital External Thermometer
15 gallon rimless tank
7 kilos reef rock(still accumulating coralline algae)
4 kilos white sand
few dead corals
Aqua Zonic Super Bright Extendable LED Light Marine 60-80cm 26.82watts
Ista Cree Led Light 60cm 15watts
DIY PVC Overflow
2 UP-Aqua 24 Hr. Timer
200watts Eheim Jager heater
+/- 10 gallon refrigerium
Rio 1700 23 watts Submersible pump
Boyu WG-310 Skimmer
Filter Pads, Filter sock (as in literally "sock"/medyas ng misis ko na di na nya ginagamit to avoid water splashing)
White Sand, white medium gravel, 3kls. dead corals, 1 kl. reef rock, chaeto algae, unknown reef plant
2 liters UP-Aqua Porous Creamic rings
Aqua Zonic Super Bright LED 15w

Need to buy water tester to check water parameters.

Hi guys!

I am new to this hobby and I am badly in love with reef creatures. I searched for reefers and gladly I saw your group which I think can be of great help to me. Hehehe! I have a 65G tank with T5 bulb, pebbles and rocks in it. Next thing is that Im planning to get sand and live rocks straight from the beach (is that a good idea?) and I read the very first post on this thread and it seems I am on the right track as well. Next thing is I will be buying a Protein Skimmer and a powerhead/wavemaker. I just want to have your insights guys if I am indeed on the right track.

By the way, I am based in Cebu. Any members who are from Cebu here? I'd love to learn more from you!

A thing I like to have is an external UV.

Instead of having the UV run all the time (which kills live food microbes), just keep it in the closet and use it if needed after you add new fish.

very well explained, basics are very important especially in setting up an aquarium because some fish are sensitive and it's not easy to have a fish aquarium. keep on posting and nourish our minds with good information. Thanks again!
