whats the color temp of your lights? maybe its a factor..

No i use refuge with chaeto algae and algae turf scrubber does 9 to 10 kh brown corals

yes at night they fully extend
the same when 250 watt they extend at night
at light on they extend but not too much only the head of the polyp
