decompression sickness??

Hi guys, I have a 5 month old salaria.. Super healthy nya althroughout.. nakikipag agawan pa every feeding time.. kaninang umaga, when i checked on him, nakita ko bloated yung stomach nya, and di na sya ganun ka active. nasa isang tabi lang sya and breathing slightly heavy. Possible ba na magka decompression sickness ang salaria? If so, how can i cure this?? AFAIK, sa deep water species lang yun nangyayari eh... I remember watching a video before on decompressing fish, they use a special needle at tinutusok nila yung fish to release pressure sa body ng fish.. they do this every 5-10 feet when collecting deep water species... help naman guys. super sipag maglinis ng salaria kong to! :roll:

somebody correct me if i'm wrong, i think decompression sickness happens in an instant... if your fish has been with you for about 5 months now then i think it's another type of disease/illness.

+10 kay sea turtle, yung swim bladder nila ang nag aacumulate ng air kaya yun ang tinutusok ng needle to release, but thats immediately after cathing the fish, maybe nagka indigestion o me nakain na maliit na plastic na d natutunaw, cath it nlng muna cguro it ilagay sa qt.

wala naman ako nilagay.. i've read a case regarding a deep water anthias na super sensitive and EXPENSIVE! 2 months na sya sa tank nung owner nung lumabas yung symptoms. he called an expert to decompress his fish, ayun, gumaling naman! i think its in reefbuilders..

salaria just died. R.I.P :cry:

Ganyan din nangyari sa Bangai ko eto video. All of a sudden bigla na lang lumaki ang tyan. After 3hrs Patay na.

This is an example of a deep water fish caught when I was bottom fishing of about 80 meters..

Hello my friend
Salarias are shallow water fishes!
But.....many collectors still use sodium to catch them as the net trainings of the 80"s and early 90's were stopped.
Inadequate if any decompression causes damage, not sickness. But from the damage may arise infection.
Decompression and handling training was also stopped along with the earlier trainings only to be replaced by Moro-moro trainings by foreign organizations with no local knowledge..
