Hello mga experts. Pa help naman kung anong LEDS ang kelangan ko. Tama naba itong nasa list ko? All leds would be 3W High power leds with 20mm star base.

Leds:
20 pcs Extreme Royal Blue (what wavelength to use? 445nm or 455nm?)
20 pcs Cool White ( I was advised to choose from 2800k to 30000k, Which one is better together with the blues?)
5 pcs Red ( here I selected 660 NM, please advise if this is incorrect)
5 pcs UV Violet ( I selected 420 NM, Is this okay?)
5 pcs Green

If there are colors na kulang or mali please advice po. I have a 36" heatsink and papuputulan ko pa. Tama naba yong line up ng leds if mali po paki correct na lang po ako? Pasingit na din po ng tamang lens to use. my tank specs are 30" x 18" x 20" po.

Maraming salamat po.

bro try mo 3blue:2white ratio. about sa wavelength try to read this very informative

http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2012/10/aafeature

I'm also learning more about leds suitable for coral coloration without sacrificing growth. ung iba kasi ok ung kulay ng leds sa vision ng viewer pero walang growth ung coral, ung iba naman puro growth lng pero di maganda sa mata. what brand of Leds are you planning to use?

Eto plan kong ratio sa akin advice ng isang american reefer plus the approval of president Marty hehehe..

3 royal blue
2 neutral white
2 purple
1 cyan
1 blue
1 red

advice ko bro if you are planning to stay in this hobby for a long time, invest ka na kagad sa branded leds. though para sa akin ok na ang china leds, less than a year sa DIY ko may mga busted leds na specially sa violets madaling masunog (dahil to sa driver, violets should be driven less than its max mA. so far plan ko mag mix ng cree and luxeon sa next build ko and hopefully it will last for 10 years (cross fingers) kaso madugo ang presyo hehehe.

Thank you sa input and for the reference sir. Very Informative. Nag hahanap nga ako sample builds dito sa DIY section. Nakita ko yong 144Wx3 - 3W array LED DIY - Paul's Reef. Ang ganda ng pagkaka gawa. I wonder if ok to sa tank ko maliit lang naman kasi. Madami pa ako babaguhin sa leds dipende sa research and advice. Salamat sa pagsilip. BTW I agree mas better mag invest sa branded leds. Darating din tayo don haha. wala pa pera!

Hi harrymreef. I have tried a lot of 3W leds configuration from 1:1 blue and white, white-royal blue-blue-super actinic-UV-Turquoise green -deep red and a lot more. I have experimented all the possible combination of these colors. Here's what I have learned so far for almost a year:

1. You can grow corals using violet, royal blue, deep blue combination only. Therefore you can lower the ratio of white.
2. I need to clean the glass more frequent if my whites setting is too high.
3. Try separating the channel of the UV or super actinic so that you can turn it on separately. I'm sure you will say WOW!
4. Use bigger heat sink as much as possible, so that if your fan fails, you will not burn your leds.
5. Use glue stick to mount the lense. If your fan fails, the lense will fall. If you see a lense on the water, something is wrong :) the melting point of glue stick is approximately 80 deg, same as the highest safe temp that your leds can operate.

I hope this helps. Good luck on your build.

Hello sir Paul. Thank you for sharing your experience with led experimentation. This will help me a lot in my led build. Thank you sir! I have until this weekend to finalize my led build. I like your Led Build design sir. Any updates on how it looks on your tank? Thanks. :D
