Solar Panels for Tanks?

Postby Reefing Aquarist » Wed Dec 10, 2014 10:18 am

Hi again,

Has anyone thought of, considered or better yet tried using solar panels to run some equipments in one's tank... like return pumps and lights.

I am not familiar din sa initial costs and the cost of maintaining a solar system and kung kaya nila pumps and lights natin. Very tempting yung idea na not pay electrical utility company (maybe for the tank) forever hehe.

Hope someone can discuss some more on the topic on pros and cons and if ever how big a system kailangan at least for a tank.

:D

Typical solar for a tank would cost around 29k based on OLX prices. Pag ibig has a new program regarding solar loan with up to php130k loanable amount. There's a meralco program that when you have excess electricity can be reversed by giving back the electricity you consumed this program comes with a different type of meter not the ordinary installed outside our houses.

It's a good investment.

It's an investment. Mahal yung battery and it doesnt last that long. Now na may grid tied na, mas ok na siya gamitin.

Can anyone give insights dun sa pag-ibig solar power plan? parang gusto ko i try.

kailangan naka mortgage yung bahay or owned diba? alam mo rates and payment terms. Kaso medyo malaki talagang investment. Tapos puro bagyo pa. Kaya baka liparin yung panels.

yung ilang pips sa tipidpc binababa nila ung panels pag OA ung bagyo...bali magagamit sya sa reef pag wala ng winds tapos wala pang meralco.. pero ung iba may parang swivel na stand kaya pag may wind nagging parralel ung orientation.

20-25 years din huhulugan yung 130k or kung magkano yung magagastos mo. I'm guessing, same percentage of interest lang din yan sa usual na loans. Pwede sya isabay sa housing loan or sa home improvement loan.

kung mataas ung upfront cost ng solaric baka pwedeng alternative ung i-panda.. nagoofer sila ng progressive plans... parang updradable ung sets nila parang una 20% lang ng total needs mo... then pag may funds na pwede mo na kunin ung next upgrade para maging 40% na etc..so on

actually upgradable din yung solaric. tagal naman ng loan. mas ok siguro yung mga 10 years.. kasi malaki na nabawas ng loan mo sa meralco by that time..

anyone na nakapaginquire na?

It's never easy when dealing with Meralco. Takot kasi na hindi mabayaran yung mga yun eh, let alone give something back to the consumers. Yung 1k discount nga namin for buying an inverter-type aircon, inabot ng 3 months bago nila binigay. Hassle makipag-usap kapag ang kausap mo may power of monopoly.
