DIY Leds Final Build Complete

Postby BenjMD » Thu Mar 13, 2014 11:46 pm

Hi, Inspired by Seth's DIY Leds, with the help of a friend we managed to build a test prototype.
Just want to share.

LEDs to use:

5w Cob Leds - 450nm
3w Bridgelux Bead Leds - 450nm, 10000k, red and green
Drivers: Meanwell
Lens: 60 Degrees
Thermometer

sana may makapagtest ng PAR reading ng mga COB type na leds tulad nyan. as i remember, last time na gumamit ako ng ganyan mas naunang tumutubo mga algae kaysa sa growth ng corals.hehe.. there's a big difference compared sa HO leds. pero ok siya pang macro. :D

Any suggestions are welcome. I'm very much interested sa par levels nito. In the works na ung final build with combination og 10 watt leds, 5 watt pcbs and 3 watts.

Looks good, but are those COBs driven by the same driver that powers the 3w? Just remember cool white will make corals look dull. :)

Get the rated lux of those COBs and multiply it by the factor posted in apogee's website. From what I have read it will give you a crude approximation of your LEDs ' PAR.

Just keep in mind PAR is jjust a small factor.

Separate meanwell driver for pcbs. Anyway ive been reading regarding red and green and im very much in contemplation if I use those leds in my final build. Any inputs please thanks.

Check out calvin's 3 w full spectrum build or the Evil Cluster Build in nano-reef. Maganda deep red tapos cyan and turquoise plus the usual blue, royal blue and violets. kung gagamit ka ng white wag cool white.
Cheers,
Marty

This is my proposed diagram of my final build consisting of:
1. Custom built 10 watts royal blue
2. Custom build 10 watts 14k
3. 5 watts royal blue and 14k
4. 3 watts of royal blue, 14k, red and green with optics
Total wattage of the project = 360 watts
Aquarium size: 72x18x18

Drivers to be used composed of Inventronics and customized quality china drivers

Customized 10watt led (on the left vs ordinary 10w led)

Looks good, would you mind sending me a pm as well, regarding the custom made multichip? I'm seeing red green and white diodes in there so I am assuming that's a broad spectrum chip. What's the spcs for that chip?

BTW, will you be using the inventronics driver for the multichips or for the 3w array?
Cheers,
Marty
