DIY Fan Array

Postby moose312 » Mon May 07, 2012 2:49 am

i had a temp crash recently and now i have to prioritize my fans on the top list which i should have done it before. better late than never i guess.. so after countless hours of thinking how to mount my fans without my tank looking like a crap but in the cheap side, i finally had a lightbulb moment..

i mean a light fixture not a bulb lol
Materials:
4x 80mm DC Fan 50php ea
Lightbulb fixture (recycled)
Glue Gun
Some HeatShrink
Soldering iron & soldering leads (you can tape it if you want)
DC Adaptor - which was used for my diy moonlight but poor leds burn too fast
Drill

since its just collecting dust i might just use it.
Image

i have to use the receptacle mount so i can screw the fixture on the aluminum

Drill holes for the wires and screw
Image

Almost there!
Image

mounted the fans

Heat shrink in place ready for tinning

dito lang ako nagka problema, hindi pala kasya ung wires sa butas but managed to hide it

Finish product

dont mind the duct taped led fixture in here  , its just temporary as im waiting for my new tank!

btw i marked the wires for the correct polarity para di na mahirapan later kung alin ang negative and possitive. :) all in all im pretty pleased of what i have accomplished haven't put the dc adapter yet though..

minsan may color code yung wires.. pag red positive, pag black negative.. or you can check using a multimeter.. pero if wala talaga.. kabit mo lang, pag umikot ibig sabihin tama yun.. 12V lang naman yan.. walang mangyayari kung baliktad yung kabit..
