DIY Eductor

hello rp! it's been a while... i made an eductor and just want to share it here. so...

materials:
1 pc 4" 3/4 PVC pipe
1 pc ~1" 1/2 PVC pipe
1 male hose adapter (not sure if this what it's called)
PVC cement

tools:
1 hand held drill (or any rotary tool)
heat gun
ball & cone grinders
22mm hole saw
cutter
sandpaper
and a jack hammer (optional)

i was initially aiming for this...

...maybe next time

onto the build...

i used a cone grinder...


to grind the inside of the hose adapter(?)




using a cutter, i stripped off the remaining plastic inside the adapter...


grind the outflow of the nozzle too...


you may also use a cutter to trim off the excess plastic...

using a 22mm hole saw, i cut the thread of the adapter...








this piece will get into the 3/4 pvc later...


the inflow of nozzle is about 15mm and the outflow is at about 8mm...

the parts to be joined later (hose adapter & 3/4" pvc pipe)


a pilot hole was drilled at about 1.5" from one end. this will serve as the guide to cut a bigger hole on the pipe...


using a 22mm hole saw, i cut a hole from wall to wall...






then cleaned the surface using a ball grinder...

all cleaned up...






using a heat gun, the outflow of the eductor was heated and pressed lightly to flatten the pipe a bit...




now the edges were sanded to a curve to allow more flow...

hose adapter fitted inside the 3/4 pvc pipe. when everything's fitted right, i poured pvc cement through the punched hole...


test run...




without the eductor...


with the eductor... it doesn't show well but the waves produced with the eductor on is noticeably stronger than the one without it.

if you can notice, there's a whirlpool forming on top of the hole of the eductor due to the water being sucked up to the pipe
