Newbie on saltwater (White web on LR)

Postby nyaherkz » Mon Oct 06, 2014 6:56 pm

hi RP! Mga master super newbie here on saltwater setup..I have a 75 gal dt and 50 gal sump. Don't have any good lighting yet. What is the cause of that web looking thing? I'll take a picture, kailangan ko muna pag aralan kung pano hahaha. Thanks in advance mga boss!

puede na iwan yan...IMO..

nasa cycling pa naman sis
pang aquarium lang...kulang pa!!!

50 gals...
no sump..
Live Rocks...
1 sun sun wavemaker 6watts

feb 2015..i added an OHF..(2nd hand kasama ng DT nuon)
added (sept 2017)skimmer from a member(kanino ko banabili yun?) :)

die-off. Dead/decaying organic material. Could be decaying sponges or algae.

you could just leave it alone. but it would be good to remove it. bawas kalat at excess nutrients yan sa tank.

Marty

What aldwin said. Basically, the more crap you put in during cycling, the more crap you have to remove when ammonia and nitrite drop. Having too much ammonia (more than 1 ppm) even impedes the cycling process, asthe turnover becomes slower. And then there's that PITA redfield ratio.

Anyways, if memory serves me right

For every 1ppm ammonia you have in your tank, you will end up having

2.7ppm nitrite then 3.6 (or 3.64? Sorry I forgot the chemistry behind this) ppm of nitrate. That explains why most beginning aquarists end up having nitrate levels that are way off the charts. :)
Cheers,
Marty

Eh nababad ko nman aga yung LR and 3 days bago lumitaw yung white webs?, ano po kaya naging cause?. para next time na bibili ako ng LR alam ko na gagawin. thanks in advance mga boss! :D

Kumbaga domino effect.

More nutrients = more algae.

Cheers,
Marty
