I have read the ATS thread and I would like to try it

ATS
no sump
no skimmer
1 DC pump

pero depende sa mga isda na balak mo alagaan.
a lot of live rocks(for filtration)

Pag tumagal rin naman at overstocked yang balak mo malamang magiging ATS na yung liverocks mo sa ganyang setup.

anu po ba mas ok standard 75g or 4'x2'x16" ?

(umiiwas lang sana sa skimmer, mahal kasi hehehe)

ats + macro algae + liverock + appropriate bioload + regular water change.

as with all other filtration methods , you just have to find the right balance between nutrient import and export.

Magets mo yung joke pag nagka turf algae na yung mismong DT mo dahil sa nutrient imbalance. Haha

Maraming DIY skimmer. Pwede na kahit DIY MAME skimmer. Pwede rin naman talagang wala, although significant din talaga ang benefit nila.

Kung tutuloy mo iyan parang mas ok na gawin mo na lang na AIO. 4x2x16 tapos false back. Di pa masakit sa mata kasi walang clutter. Pwede mo pang lagyan ng chamber yan para sa balak mong ATS or fuge.

Well bro if you want to have a lionfish or cbb, your tank can be messy. Most lionfishes accept live food readily and you have to train them to eat home made food pero long process un. So live food means pag di nya nakain may chance magdecompose un. So a skimmer is really beneficial. Mahal din maglionfish, based on my experience i feed them with shrimps from carti. 1 peso per pc un so imagine ilang piso magagamit mo for just a day. For cbb naman sir marty feeds it with shells so di din pellets un pagdi dn nakain magdecompose din. Marami namang cheap skimmers dito wait ka minsan may ro na 2nd hand 4k plus lang un. Or may haqos brand naman for 75 gal may 4k din ata syang skimmer. Di ko sure ung haqos kung okay i think some reefers here already tried it na.

Nabasa ko kasi na benefit ng ats vs skimmer ay hndi agad maaalis ung food particles kaya beneficial sya sa filter feeders

opening your skimmer 24/7 can still feed your filter feeders. there's too much particles floating sa water na hindi natin nakikita sa naked eye. May mga ibang skimmer na matagal mag break in so kung iooff mo prati skimmer mo baka mahirapan lang mag break in at baka hindi pa madumi makuha nun.

A skimmer regardless of capacity can only skim so much. Besides, magkaiba yung purpose ng skimmer sa filter materials (like filter floss, mat, socks) at sa ATS or other algae filters.
