newbie here with a suggestion.

expect die-offs (dirt) from the LR during curing period. My suggestion (gurus, please correct me if this is wrong) is to not put sand yet during this period. The sandbed surface will be covered with die-offs, giving the hassle of cleaning sand. And, if sand needs to be cured, you may separately do this.

see pic below:

this is what i have right now

bro

according to the guru din bago ka mag cycle dapat malinis na yun liverock mo binabrush yan gamit ka ng toothbrush para matanggal yun die-off ng bato heheh kasi ganyan din ako di ko na cure til now panay ang linis ko ng tank ko hehehe.

daddybogs and Xjers,
6th week na po ako ng cyling, wala pa rin ako nakikitang brown or green algae sa glass. Lahat ba talaga dadaan dun? Kung ganun, does that mean, di pko nag uumpisa? :?

The worst I saw was very little hair on the rocks, and some amphipods. And then, eto nga die-offs, nag siphon ako ng sand, meron p din konti.

thanks daddybogs on identifying the die-offs.

pwede p kaya iahon yung LR para i-brush? 8)

Ako bro 4 weeks na punong puno ng brown algae yung glass ko tsaka mga LR meron na brown, green at red algae, one of my LR got a pods colony already and some pods all over the glass, my mga small feather duster at mga worms na white sa LR.

nung nag cycle kasi ako nag ilaw nako tsaka hulog small dead fish baka ito yung cause ng mabilis na pag tubo ng algae...not sure. wait natin mga gurus kung ano suggestion nila sayo.

question lang mga sir.. meron kasi akong live rocks na binili before pero tinanggal ko na sa tubig and nakatago na and dry na dry na. question ko is pwede ko ba siyang gamitin pag magseset up ako ng bagong tank? will it become "live" again during cycling? and may nabasa ako dito na thread na may mga LR na nagkakaruon ng build up ng phosphates, naisip kong i-sun dry them then use them again for a new tank. ok lang ba yun? matatanggal naman ung phosphates nun diba? sorry newbie question. :D

hi, sirs. newbie here.
i'm going to caramoan over the weekend. pwede ba po akong mag-uwi ng live rocks galing dun? i mean, kahit matuyo po ba sila (which will make them uhm, not quite live), pwede pa ba silang i-cure at gawing live rocks sa project SW aquarium ko?

thanks.

balutan mo sir kahit dyaryo lang, para mabawasan die-offs.. usual carti style of LR transport.. or kung may sasakyan ka, dala ka ng timba para submerged ung LR..
corals die faster than fish when even one of your parameters is off the charts..
