Water Condition

Good day! Need ko lang po help nyo about my tank.

Nag set up po ako ng bagong tank. I followed Chonglai's instruction on setting up a new tank. Di ko lang alam kung tama ang pag kaka sunod ko. hehe

Heres what Ive done so far.

I have a 30gal DT, 20gal Sump. Plumbings are DIY that I just followed on youtube. =) ) (works pretty well I think. hehe) and Wave Maker.

What I did was I used Saltmix nakalimutan ko yung brand pero I ordered it from Sir Ritchie of FEV. I have 3" of sand bed, and about 20kg of Live Rock. On my sump, I have placed crushed corals, Filter, a sandbed of 4", Chaeto (added just about 3 days ago), Skimmer, and ceramic rings.

I had them running for well over a month now.

So just to test my water I placed 1 fish, Clown Fish. At first the fish was doing well but just after 2 days, the fish is just staying on top of the water, I mean its just resting just beside the suction of the overflow with its head facing up. Then it started swimming sideways, and of course now its deceased.

So this morning I just checked my water, I used API Test Kit that I also had delivered from FEV.

So heres the Reading, just dont know if its a correct reading (di lang ako sure kung tama yung reading ko).

PH is at 8.0 to 8.2 Di ko kasi ma range yung color, pero dun sha nag lalaro.
Ammonia is about 0.25ppm.
Nitrite is showing 0.
Nitrate is showing around 0 - 5ppm.
Salinity as per the floating Hydrometer, it is will inside the green mark.

So I just dont know what to do or what else do I need to check.

In need of advices to what Ive missed or what else I need to do with my tank.

nun binili mo yung clown mo sure ka ba na maayus ang condition nya? baka din kasi sa pagtranspo ng fish na stress.... post ka naman ng picture ng whole set up mo... paano ka nag mix ng salt? baka sa tank mo na minix yung salt mo...

Bro hindi pa zero ammonia mo kaya ganon, dagdag mo pa yung kung hindi na maganda condition ng fish. Antay mo muna mag zero ammonia. Hth

kulang pa cycling mo bro.... wait mo till mag zero.. sa tank ka na mismo nag mix? hmmmm d ko pa nagawa yun eh pero sure ka ba wala naiwan na residue ng salts sa tank?

imo better wait ka nalang... mas maganda if you will go natural cycling kusa naman bababa yan.

tama sila, you need to cycle your tank first. You can seed your tank with shrimp or fish food or sabi ng iba natural thru die offs ng live rock. Nagspike na ammonia mo, wait mo naman ang nitrite then last na magspike nitrate. Deadly ang ammonia sa mga fish.

You can get away with what you did na magmix ng saltmix sa tank tutal wala namang laman tank mo at sabi mo wala namang residue na natira but next time sa container ka na magmix ng salt then let it sit and aerate it for a day or 3.
