How much does i need to start Saltwater aquarium?

Hello! Good Day po! Newbie lang po ko! i'm just 20 years old and just interested on setting up my very first saltwater tank. kung pwede ho sana pakituro naman po kung ano need na equipments po at hazards po sa pagtatayo ng ganitong tank po. and overall price po sana? i have access naman po sa cartimar so sana ho mabigyan niyo po ko ng tips mga experts! thank you po! salamat po! Hi there bro. First thing you want to do in this hobby is minimize your cost as much as possible. In doing that may i ask you not to buy anything without planning first.
Right now i personally cant give you any idea on how much will it cost you, for a simple reason na wala ka pang specific tank size in mind. What i will suggest to you instead is try asking some aquarium tank builder in cartimar since you have an access going there naman eh. From there youll get some ideas in mind. Post it here and WE, your co-reefer will give you advise. I must warn you though not to buy anything a cartimar salestalker. They might have some knowledge on how to set up a reef aquarium tank. But those very mininal knowledge they have will be sufficed by their greed by telling you like this like that just for them to sell their products.

Anyway ill give you some ideas on what to ask, be reminded that you can opt for a lowcost tank setup, mid level or a high end tank setup. Try to ask or canvass for this things you needed to start with

50gal display tank
A durable stand/cabinet for your DT
Sump tank
Return pump
Rocks (depends on your tank size)
Sand (depends on your tank size)
Skimmer
Lighting
HyDrometer
Saltmix or natural salt water

Mahirap magbigay ng ballpark figure kasi dedepende pa rin yan sa kaya mong ilaan na oras at effort sa tank.
Depende rin yan sa gusto mong ilagay.

Yung magiging itsura rin ng tank mo dedepende rin sa kaya mong ilabas na pera, during startup and the actual upkeep.

The only thing for sure is the cost will be bigger if don't have enough time and patience for your tank. And the more animals you keep (especially more demanding livestock) the more money you will need to maintain the tank.

Wag lang yung startup cost yung isipin mo. Marami kasi pasok yung budget para makagawa ng malaking tank for example, pero kakapusin ang budget para sa maintenance ng tank so nauuwi sa problema.

Hehe oo marty. Parang kotse lang din yan. The cost never ends after mo mabili ang sasakyan. Naisip ko tuloy pano kaya kung meron din na "tank loan" ano? Hahaha!

But seriously,naranasan ko nang mapagastos ng mas mahal dahil sa poor planning at lack of patience. You tend to settle for what is readily available only to realize in the end that its not worth it. Ganun nangyari sakin nung bumili ako ng return pump at lights at skimmer. Available na kasi so binili ko na, maiisip mo pwede na yan tapos tsaka mo marerealize na di pala. Hehe.

Ganyan din sa pagbili ng LS! Mapa isda man o corals. Mattempt bumili ng marami para sulit yung trip sa lfs, tapos before you know it overstocked na ang tank.

Just remember bro this hobby is not cheap and the best way to really get the most out of your hard earned money/allowance is to plan and be patient.
