Am shifting to split type chiller for my 270 gal. (325 gal incl. sump).question is will an Inverter type compressor be more energy efficient compared to a regular split type compressor. ?
I welcome any opinion, suggestions and/ reactions......

I'm also so interested to do this on my 180. Will be looking forward from the inputs of our reef experts.

According to the technician who installed my house's Aircon. Inverter type aircon generally save on electricity consumption when used continuously for some period of time. If what they said is correct, I'm not sure if we use our chillers long enough for a significant saving. Perhaps someone here with a good background on Aircon/cooling systems will impart a better explanation and logic. IMHO.

dean it will be substantial savings if ginawa mo malaki ang temp differential... i make mine 2 degrees farenheight para mas sulit ang andar... mas matagal ang andar mas matipid...
hth pero base on my observation lang sa meralco bill... i can be wrong...
